BAMTEC®-Reinforcement Technology

BAMTEC® - The Technology

With BAMTEC® all processes at the consulting engineers as well as on the construction site are substantially accelerated.

By making use of the software of M/s. Nemetschek AG, M/s. Glaser -isb cad- Programmsysteme GmbH, Sofistik AG, Technosoft or M/s. Zweistein Software it is possible to produce reinforcement plans fully-automatically on the basis of a finite element calculation including a listing of the steel elements. As the manufacturer delivers complete reinforcement mats to the construction site, the installation time of mat or round steel reinforcements is reduced by up to 90% of the time needed with conventional methods.

The use of the BAMTEC® reinforcement technology can thus be subdivided into the following steps in the sense of work process preparation optimized static:

The calculation

The statical calculation of the ceiling takes place directly with a finite element programme in the CAD-system on the basis of architecture data. Therefore the necessary reinforcement in both the x and y dimension is known for each of the upper and lower layer.

calculation

After interactive division of the ceiling area in as few carpets as possible, the module BAMTEC® of M/s. Nemetschek determines automatically the structure of the BAMTEC®-element – layer, length and rod diameter of all the rods of the BAMTEC®-element. This fits in exactly with the "contour lines of the necessary reinforcement".

calculation

For each ceiling at least four BAMTEC®-elements are necessary: upper and lower layer in both the x and the y direction whereas these must not necessarily be in vertical position to each other. In the Rollout-plan the positions of each of the BAMTEC®-element is clearly defined.

The planning

In the BAMTEC® Rollout-plan the exact position and the roll-out direction for every single one of the BAMTEC®-elements is shown for the laying out.

Rollout-Plan

The BAMTEC® overview plan serves for the overview of the whole of the plane reinforcement of a layer and is used for the control of the reinforcement by the structural examinator and for the acceptance of the reinforcement on the construction site.

Overview-Plan

The BAMTEC® manufacturing plan shows every single BAMTEC®-element and is needed at the BAMTEC® manufacturer for the control of the mechanical production by the BAMTEC® robot.

Manufacturing-Plan

The manufacture

The rods are welded onto an installation strap by a robot at the calculated distances and thus produces an exact reinforcement carpet. The robot uses straight the data of the construction engineer. The BAMTEC® welding machine is approximately 16.5 m long, 1.7 m high and 3 m wide.

The installation

The installation of the BAMTEC®-elements is very simple. Without having to use a traverse the carpet can be transported to its starting point. The advantage is that no materials will have to be transported back from the building site to the BAMTEC® manufacturer!

installation

Provided the roll do not exceed a total weight of 1.3 metric tons they can be rolled out by two workers without any effort. The installation crews thus are no longer necessary while and the time for the laying of the reinforcement is minimized. As the position of each BAMTEC®-element is clearly defined the BAMTEC® reinforcement technology guarantees a high quality regarding laying out and execution.

installation

For the upper and lower layer two BAMTEC®-elements each are required, which are rolled out at a right angle against each other. In this process the upper layers of binding beam reinforcements can also be integrated. The same goes for the reinforcements of the ceiling binding beams, the lower reinforcement of the wall and the replacements for gaps.
